Building Large Scale Web Apps is now Patterns.dev.

Hey everyone! Addy and Hassan here 👋🏽

First, a huge thank you. Since we launched “Building Large Scale Web Apps,” thousands of copies have sold, and the feedback from engineers at companies large and small has been incredible. Then, earlier this year, we released “Product Engineering with AI,” and the response has been just as amazing. None of that would have happened without this community and everyone’s feedback, so genuinely, thank you.

This momentum has led us to something we’ve been working toward for a while: we’re bringing everything under one roof with Patterns.dev.

For those who may not be aware, Patterns.dev is our free online resource for design, rendering, and performance patterns, helping developers build powerful web apps, used by hundreds of thousands worldwide. Going forward, it’s the home for everything we do: the deep dives into React and web performance you’ve come to expect, plus new exciting projects in the works that we can’t wait to share with you. More on that soon.

As part of this move, you may start receiving emails from Patterns.dev (instead of Substack) in the coming weeks. Same people, same quality, just a new home.

You’ll also have access to something new: AI Weekly, a weekly intelligence briefing on AI coding tools, developer experience, and the evolving landscape of software engineering. It’ll land in your inbox every Monday at 12 pm PST, breaking down the biggest AI developments that matter for developers and builders. Issue #1 is already live if you want to check it out.
